I have read replies concerning laying ceramic tiles over other surfaces but I wish to lay them over very soundly secured cork floor tiles which themselves are layed onto floorboards covered by ply. Will this be OK as to take up cork tiles is a horrible job!. If OK should I seal/prepare the cork with something prior to laying.

I would remove your cork flooring it is soft and cermaic needs solid base
your floor will crack down the road. you can rent a electric tile stripper at your local rental outlet whitch will remove the cork quite easily.

cork can be moister sensitive, I wouldn't suggest going over the top as the glue you use contains moisture. If to lazy to take them up i would think about putting plywood over the top.
