I intend to use ceramic tiles for tiling over an upstair Shower Room T&G wooden floor (7' x 4') and was told to screw the floor boards down and use Flexi R/set adhesive and Flexi grout. I was assured by doing above the tiles will not lift. Anyone out there tried this and was it a success?????
I wouldn't. I will wait to be corrected by a tiler, but I alway taught, and still do, to lay 18mm marine or wbp plywood down, then suitable adhesive on top. Too many joints underneath can only lead to movement which will then cause cracking. But putting the ply down first you r not only restricting the movement, you are creating far fewer weak points.
Only about 3 months back i retiled some ones floor where they had precisely as you have suggested.
