laying chip board

I am using 22mm sheets of chipboard to board out my loft conversion.

I have been told to leave a 20mm gap around the edges where it meets the walls.

I have done this, but where i have laid the boards around the chimney stack i have not left a 20mm gap. More like 5mm.

Do i need to cut out some boarding here ?
