laying interior slate floor slabs outside?

hi ,

i am trying to pave a path area and want to use slate. The problem is due to the existing concrete path and levels of surrounding elements...i dont have much depth to play with....therefore was thinking about using some interior floor slate tiles as they seem a lot thinner <10mm. Does anyone foresee any problems with this???

what type of slate are they and do you know from where?
