Hi,

I'm about to lay brand new T&G floorboards in my living room / Porch. I've read around the forum and understand I need to leave the boards in the living room for a week or so to settle before i fit them. I just wondered if i also need to paint / treat all the boards with anything before i fit them? When finished we'll be laying a carpet but i was thinking more of protecting the underside or is it just not needed.

Thank you very much for your time.

Kind regards

Phil

No rules that say you should but good practice anyhow. A 5l tin of wood preserver will cost about £15 and will do the lot twice over. Peace of mind and all that.
