Hi all, first time poster, long time lurker here.

Would anyone know if it’s feasible to lay a patio over existing concrete slabs. Some cracking in the concrete but it’s super sturdy. If not patio slabs what about block paving or tiling?

Trying to do this without paying thousands which is what I’ve been quoted. Ideally looking to get 2-3 years out of the area before committing to a more expensive project.

If it is sound go for it!
I have laid slabs over concrete a couple of times once on dabs the last time on a solid bed of mortar. Block paving would require a decent bed of sand and raise the level a lot more than slabs might well cause DPC problems.

Hi Dan, footprints is right just be careful you do not compromise the dpc line even for 2/3 years. But the finish is all about the base. mortar bed sounds good.
