Laying slabs over existing conservatory base

Hi

Have recently ripped down my conservatory and demolished the dwarf wall, current al that remains it the base and bottom courses of bricks, the same height as the base.

A builder has told me I can straight over the base with slabs, saves ripping it all out ??

Any thoughts - can add pictures if it will help

Where is the DPC?
So long as the new patio(?) doesn't breach the dpc then why not?
