Im buying a 100 year old house. Ceilings have lead paint above drop ceilings that needs to be removed. Is this a job one can DIY? Any tips, experinces would be most appreciated. Thanks!

I suppose "drop ceiling" is what we call a suspended ceiling?

Difficult to do safely yourself. You don't want to burn it off or abrade it. I know an old builder who has brain damage from lead poisoning from that kind of thing :(

I would probably try to knock off the old plaster; else decorate over the top of it and hope it lasts for another hundred years. If the substrate is not plaster you could use a chemical paint stripper. but don't let it drip on your hair, skin or eyes.
