I have a big problem.
I have a lead pipe coming from the groung to my house. The water company is coming to put the meter but I do not know how to solder a shut-off valve to this lead pipe.
Please help me. I do not have money to change the whole underground pipe at this moment.

We use a compression fitting called a leadlock for joints on lead over here in the uk.
I am sure you have a similar mechanical fixing too.
Good luck
Pete
