Can anybody tell me what fitting I need you connect lead to Poly?

Thanks

V

I thought a lead lock would connect to 15 and 22mm copper & Plastic, don't I need another fitting to connect to Blue Medium Density Poly??

Be aware if you are joining up to lead pipe.
assuming you talking 1/2 in lead pipe. There appears to be 2 grades, a 7lb and a 6lb. These are the weight of a 4ft length, but what it means is that the 7lb. is slightly larger in diameter.
I looked at this a couple of weeks back and my reference book stated that 7lb lead was 0.840 ins. and 6lb lead was 0.800 ins.
I did this because I unearthed a lead pipe with a branch off it and I thought the branch was slightly smaller, so I then measure the pipes using a micrometer and these were the sizes that resulted.
Main pipe was 0.915 ins and branch pipe was 0.885 ins.
I also had a lead lok that had come off the main pipe 25 ft upstream that was clearly marked 1/2 in. 7lb.
I can only assume that maybe the pipes had swelled under pressure.

It's not that exact a science.

If a 7lb lead lock is too slack you expand the lead with a tool inside, if it won't go on you shave the lead, unless it's 9lb lead in which case use a 9lb lead lock. There is some 5lB around, quite a bit of 6lB and masses of 7 lB.

Plumbcentre sell two plastic connectors smallest vertually covers all domestic sizes in one part, larger one for 9lB upwards, very unlikely to be needed. It's a larghe black plastic capsule, dead easy to fit and dead reliable. On the other end of the small one is a puch fit socket which the 20mm mdpe fits into, the larger one is 25mm. You will need to get a 20mm X 25mm converter and a short cutting of 20mm pipe if you want to run your pipe in 25mm (which I recommend as it's only about 12 quid a role, and the bigger the better.
