Lead Valleys

Hello,

The pic shows valley installation to a recent re-roof. From all YouTube vids lead valleys are installed with lead welts.
I am confused why it has not been done here.
Is it still the norm to do lead welts or not ?

Any other thoughts on this lead valley install ?

How do you know there haven't welted the lead?

Hi catlad,
When I was up there I just wanted to check. Using a bucket trowel it did not hit any welts.
Plus, a few days later I asked one of the guys and he told me no lead welts.

From what I can see in your instance, I wouldn't worry about your valley being welted.

Ok thanks. One more thing; pre re-roof with no membrane, I could not see daylight by the valley. I now can see daylight running all way down following the length of the valley board.

Is this normal or not?

Possibly heavier membrane.
