Hi all
New to this website.
I’d like some advice.
We’ve had reversible PVC windows fitted to 2 dormers.
After storm Amy we’ve had some water ingress appearing in the ceiling immediately below the dormers.
After due googling and inspecting the windows-
Two of the window trickle vents in one window are blocked with silicone (water doesn’t drain out onto outside cill) and in the other window water drains out very slowly out of all the vents when poured in. (When compared to other windows). Can this cause water to leak into the fabric of the house?
I’ve also noticed that the fitters used screws on the bottom of the window frame (besides sides)- is this normal practice or would it compromise the window drain system and cause a leak?
We’ve not had any leaks in this house and we’ve been through some storms. Gutters clean, and roof slates all in order.
Thank you in advance!
