Leaking bath 2-way diverter

    I have just moved into a house with a spa style bath, however the diverter on the bath that controls the water flow to the bath or the hand held shower is leaking. The leak is coming out of the top of the diverter where the control is (see first picture, the water is coming from the base of the central rod)

    The second picture shows the whole unit, the top connection is the water inlet and the two on the right of the picture are the two outlets.

    Please could you advise me if something is just missing such as a washer or if this would be beyond repair.

    It is likely to be a seal that has failed, if you remove the valve from the body, you should gain access to this part.
