Hi All

I came home last night from a week away to find a small puddle of water by the valve where you drain your central heating system-(the one you connect some hose to drain the system) . it it situated in the corner of my kitchen next to the lowest radiator in the house by the back door.I wiped my finger around the valve and it's definitely wet and coming from there.
I was wondering what to do to fix it and was thinking of tightening it up a bit but was concerned that I would make the problem worse. i'm assuming there may be an olive or rubber ring in the valve that has gone?
I was also thinking of giving the radiators a bleed ,thinking maybe some pressure has built up in the system and That is what is putting pressure on the valve.

don't know really. any help would be appreciated.

I suggest you do try to tighttn it a bit but dont do it if its already tight.

The correct fix may well be to replace it or to just replace the washer.

But that will mean draining the heating pipework.
