Leaking door near the hinge

Never posted here before, so please don't ridicule me. At least not too much.
My rear exterior door is leaking on the hinge side of the door. Are there any products that can weatherproof it. Has the same problem with the top of the door, but managed to fix that by fixing a batten onto the frame and sealing it, but if I do this at the side, the rain can still get in. B & Q are useless, so I turn to some real experts.

I'm guessing it's a wooden door and not upvc door?

If so, my guess is the door is not close enough to the door stop? Is there a gap there?

Or you may only just need a weather threshold bar on top of the door frame.

There are door rubber strip available from most diy stores.

If you can do a photo, we maybe able to help you further.
