Hello,

Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere - I cant find it if it has!

I have a ceramic tile formed p-trap which receives water from my guttering / sinks etc and feeds it to the sewer. However, if left for some time, the water level in the trap decreases to nothing. Clearly, there is a leak at the bottom of the trap (evidenced by some cracking in the tile). I have tried a variety of methods to seal this leak - both applying bitumen and then trying a tile with adhesive over the top. However, there seems still to be a leak (albeit now much slower). Does anyone know of a good product to use to seal this leak once and for all?

Thanks in advance for your help.

outside trap :?: sounds like someone has bodged a tile in there before  I`ve never seen a white ceramic trap - thought that kind of thing was for laboratories . Dig it out and fit a plastic one

Apologies, slight correction. It is made from brown clayware (bottom, sides etc all from same material). Not sure if that makes any difference!

Might be leaking on the other side of the u-bend where you can't repair it
