Having been in this house for 6 months. No leaks !!

I noticed a few drops of water from this pipe joint yesterday. It has stopped leaking now.

I think I increased the water pressure on the combi boiler

Could this be the case. ?

What is the purpose of this.

I guess there used to be a hot water cylinder here previously??

Any thoughts.

Thanks

As suggested by @terryplumb, that is the auto air vent. Sometime they can let a little moisture out when they vent but they can be prone to leaking after a time. Keep an eye on it, if it starts to regularly leak then tighten down the cap and look to get it replaced.
