help..had anew bathroom fitted no bath ..just walk in quadrant shower....by the same person who fitted similar in old house 4 years ago...the problem...left to dry 72 hours on completion....then had first shower....water leaking from sealant around by the doors..and small trickling down the edges....fitter said that he would seal from floor to shower tray in a week or so when shower had settled?? rang him ...after the week of using hand towels around shower ect explained problem..he has been out a number of times now....a few things he ahs tried sealant on the inside..looks bad didnt work...he pleced a number of wooden wedges between the tray and the floor??? the problem then moved much more to the outside..and much more leaking....he put more wedges around the gaps ( as they hadnt been sealed yet properly) .
fitter says he thinks its the tray...also said that two plumbers who have never seen the job say that...
i had another plumber out to fit a tap who says its swings and roundabouts...he thinks the tray is fine....and at this time said he would comletely re seal and if that fails he would adjust the lags...
i also spok to supplier...who was very decent and says get back when you are clear on problem see what we can do...
so spoke to the fitter filled him in on all this....its has been going on a month....
he said he thinks he has done all he can do....i asked is that it youve done all you can do...i said ok im going to put phone down..
i later received atext from him saying that he would be happy to cut a gap in shower tray and adjust legs which he had mentioned previously....im wondering as the whole thing looks a mess if he is so sure its the tray..(which was definately level using to spirit levels checked over night) then ..
WHY the wedges.....why the cutting away at the tray.....????
and no answer.....
he hasnt been reasuring at all...i havnt slept....what are people supposed to do in this situation....???
from day one he has said that he wouldnt want to take the whole thing out that would be a last resort.....
im lost......am i supposed to just move on pay someone to reove the tray because he says that is what he thinks the problem???
