Leaking Shower Has Many Small Black Flies in Shower Tray

Whilst having a shower yesterday, water started to run through the ceiling but it stopped gradually after the shower was switched off.

I'm guessing the sealant needs renewing but along with the mould in the sealant along the sides of the shower tray we've noticed 20-30 or so very small black flies or bugs (the size of thunder flies) that look as if they're half dead and are all over the shower tray.

We also saw a dozen or so on the window sill the day before. Any body know what they are and where they've come from?
