Leaking Shower

We bought a house back in September and the shower has always leaked even when we replaced the head etc it still leaks.

I have just had a high water bill and think this could be the reason.

What could this be and could I fix it or be it be easier for a Plumber to fix and if so am I looking at high costs?

At a guess I would say it needs a new thermostatic cartridge.

If it's the bar mixer in your pic then it needs a new flow valve.
