I've got a Vaillant Ecotec Plus 327

We had a leak a while ago that a local independent fixed. It's developed another leak. But in a different place as far as I can tell.

I know I'm not supposed to, but I took the front panel off. To see where the leak is from.

There's a black plastic manifold on the left hand side, attached to the heat exchanger. The leak seems to be from the joint between that and the copper pipe furthest back.

I'm guessing (but no more) that it might just need an O ring. In fact component 03 from page 30 of this:

Of course, there may be more to it than that. It looks like a few things would have to come out before you could get at that pipe.

Is that a big job? Vaillant do a fixed price job of £260 (I think). The last local independent we used seemed OK. But of course he didn't carry the component so there was a lot of tooing and froing.

Thanks.

You pays your money and takes your pick.

Vaillant are about £300 and would usually have small parts with them.

If I was dealing with anything like that in my locality then the total cost might be about £104.

But now you have been so naughty and opened your boiler the correct advice is to turn it off and wait until a gas reg engineer can come to check its safety!
