Leaking windows?

Hi, recently after a heavy downpour we noticed our back bathroom window was letting water in and above it was damp. The back door directly below had damp patches as well. I have attached some pics of outside as well as I’m not sure if the crack has everything to do with it. I’ve been told that the window letting in water has a cheap plastic infill that isn’t sealed correctly. Can anyone give advice please? Thanks A lot!!
