I bought my house complete with what now appears to be a bodged extension.
It's built on a poured slab. There's a DPM between the slab and the walls and where the two meet on the outside, the builder has trowelled over some compo (which is now breaking away)
Internally the slab has had flags layed over it.
When it rains hard the mortar between the slabs becomes damp. I assume water is seeping under the walls at the DPM ?
A mate told me that the trowelled compo should be some type of special builders mastic instead ??
The flags need to come up anyway so would anyone recomemend brushing over bituminus paint ?
Ideas please.
