Hi newbie here and sorry if this has been covered off in another thread.

Fitted a new radiator upstairs used pfte around the seals and it has been tightened, Everything appears ok and then two hours later we get an odd drip. Its been tightened again and the same seems to happen, when we check after the tightening its bone dry. Is there something ive done wrong (ie not enought pfte)?

Yep!, re-ptfe the thread into rad and if "FACE" of valve relies on a machined fit for seal, a smear of jointing paste is recommended.

Keith.

Keith Thanks for your quick response, the jointing paste is this smeared over the ends of the joints or do i loosen the nuts and then apply?

A slight smear on face of joint if it's a large nut, if iit's an olive, bit of ptfe over olive.

Keith.

Thanks i thought you would say that, i know its the connection going into the rad and when i have checked tonight its know less than 2 drips in 7 hours, so will monitor it and get a plumber in if gets worse at least i can isolate it to one rad.
