Hi all

I'm currently speccing out a workshop-shed room that will attach to the side of my house.

Measurements 13ft long, 8ft wide, 2.4m high with a pent roof.

In terms of timber, I am thinking of treated 3x2 @ 450mm span for uprights.

For the base, was thinking 9x3 @ 400mm, 18mm ply on top.

The outside will be 12 or 18mm T&G. Walls will be insulated and probably use ply @ 18mm.

Does the above sound reasonable for a solid room?

406mm/16" centres for sheet material use
12ft will be economic sheet wise
would also help iff the width was nearer to 7ft8" as you will loose about an inch on the slope and you need an overhang

Externally cover the OSB with breathable membrane, then fit 50 x 25 battens, then your cladding.

The cavity makes your construction water tight.
