LEC T6066W fridge freezer

My father has a six year old LEC T6066W fridge freezer which has stopped working, the fuse is ok as the light illuminates when the door is opened to the fridge. I turned it off and after a while switched it back on again. I heard the compressor start and cut out less than ten seconds later. Is this something that can be repaired or is it better to buy a new fridge freezer?
