Two light switches in hallway operating hallway lights, can I put a dimmer on one of those and dim the lights?

Yes, you can get a 2 way push on/off dimmer ( most are nowadays} and keep 1 switch, or a more tricky option is a slave and master, which will dim from both positions, but you may need to shuffle the wires round which is not always that simple.
