Hi, I have one of those 3D wooden world maps on my wall, the couch is directly underneath it offering a place to potentially hid things, what I want is some kind of LED colour changing strip that will some how highlight the map but remain unseen from just behind the couch. Does such a product exist please?

You need lights that can be adjusted in terms of the angle and position, an led strip would just act as a general uplighter

Any light source fitted in that narrow gap behind the sofa will only be able to highlight the underside of the map, though there may be some over-spill onto the map itself. It might work if you have a bigger gap and can set your lights away from the wall slightly angled towards the wall. You'll need something on the ceiling to highlight the whole map.

I've never been to the Indian Ocean, didn't realise they had 2 gang sockets over there

Haha, wondered how long it would take somebody to notice, we used to have the telli on that wall and wanted to take it out but you can’t hide it so I painted it instead. It’s a feature

Oh we all noticed but we're hardened to the odd and peculiar on here. It's not a feature it looks ridiculous but you already know that.
