I have a led strip light which no longer works. Using my tester I’ve established, 240v reach the transformer and the transformer is outputting you the strip. At this point I assumed the light needs changing. However...the leads between each led light on the strip are also carrying power. None of the lights on the strip work.

Is that normal and does it still indicate the strip light needs replacing?

Thanks in advance.

What is your tester? It is unusual for all the leds in a strip to stop working at the same time.

I used the contactless fluke for this test. The power was detected/undetected with the operation of the switch.

I also have a two pole tester but this was easier to use in this situation

Looking for 12V dc with a 'contactless' tester is a hiding to nothing. Test 12V with a multimeter. Test 230V ac with a two pole tester.

Appreciate the shortcomings but the fact that there was a 100% relationship between the switch seemed an adequate test? Or is this skewed by my grounding etc.

It wasn't an adequate test. Do it the way I said or you will be wasting your time. I could spend more time explaining, but I've got a Margarita to finish.
