Ledger board and rafters

Hi,

I’ve tried googling the answer to this however I’m now more confused

I’m doing a lean to roof for my porch and window canopy( all one piece)

I know the rafters need birds mouths cutting for the wall plates however when I look online re the ledger board which fastens to the house is it ok to use joist hangers or do the rafters sort of have birds mouths and sit on top of the ledger board ?

I’ll be using sand tidy tiles

Use truss clips at this junction, or B/M and screw/nail.

Traditionally it would be birdmouth to sit on ledger plate.
