Hi

How can we remove firmly attached lichen from roof tiles?????

We have tried chipping it and wire brushing with an electric drill.

The latter seems to change the appearance of the tiles but not the lichen.
I'm beginning to think the only way is to replace the tiles ....

..any suggestions gratefully received.

Copper sulphate, though I don't if can go into shop and buy it. Failing that the longer term technique is to buy a strip of copper about 6 inches wide by the length of the roof. Secure this strip at the ridge of the roof and let it rain. With the rain washing off the copper you get the same effect. This will wash off the existing over time and will not allow new growth
