Hi,
I live in a house that was built in the 80s and am trying to update the appearance.
I don't think the previous owner did a lot of maintenance and so the concrete roof tiles have a lot of moss and other green/lichen and the bricks/cement joints have a layer of lichen or salt on them. The brickwork isn't that great, so there is also thirty-year old cement to clean off of the bricks (anglian rustic reds) as well as, in places, mastic/other adhesives.
I've been trying out the usual hydrochloric acid (good for burning off mortar) and have also tried oxygen acid (sodium percarbonate), but am not really happy with the results.
Does anyone here have any good tips for cleaning green/lichen/moss/mastic/salt/any other cr*p from the face of bricks and/or roof tiles?
Alternatively, are there companies that specialise in this type of work? I would gladly pay for a solution to the problem.
TIA
Jever
