Liff combi-flo cleaning

hi
is there any easy way to clean out a combi-flo? I have scrapped out all the balls from the unit, but apparently i should rinse the unit completely out - i was trying to avoid disconnecting it from the system and taking it out - is there an easy trick i am missing?
