Initially then went off after a few months

I had the new ones on with the blue cable in L3 of the other switch but obviously that switched the porch on also.

You need a multimeter or two pole testing device.

With the supply to them on, what is the voltage across the lamp at each of the fittings? Existing and added.

Strongly suggests that your knowledge of electrical matters is inadequate to enable you to do the work and therefore that you should employ an electrician to get the lights working.

Is 240V the measured voltage at the lamp holder with the associated switch closed?

If so, the lamps should illuminate.

Why is the blue wire doing the same

Because its connected to the live through the lamp, and the switch is not working. You were actually asked to measure across the lamp.
