Light switch wiring

Hi, I am changing a light switch from a normal on/off to a dimmer for LED's
Opened it up today and found this:

Is this ok to just replicate on the dimmer??
The lights have 2 lives going out if the switch which were feeding two pendent lights, these have been swapped for downlights. All works fine for the on/off. Can I just replicate it??

I see no real problem just replicating it. I would not use a dimmer switch myself, took them all out when we moved to compact fluorescent lamps, but they seem to work with large LED bulbs, but problems with small bulbs like the G9. And they will not work with smart bulbs, and I am a lazy guy, and like to use voice controls for lighting.
