Light switches

Is it a bit old fashioned to have an extra light above the bed with a pull cord nowadays? Would a r/c switch be better? What are your views guys?

I fit a dimmer switch just above bed height and just to the side of the bed.

I might even fit another switch on the other side of the bed to avoid arguements.

Pullswitch, oh no. Very out of date - a bit like having lots of mirrors on your Vespa..

I was going to use lamps at the side of beds and a R/C main light switch. That would be quite good I think, as bed may want to be moved at some stage I guess.

Cheers mate, I know GET are quite good. B&Q do r/c units by Homeserve which has a digital/lcd remote controller and a base where you can text commands home if need be. Do you think these are as good as GET?

I don't see anything wrong with that solution - Cheap, effective, simple, and gives light where you want it for reading in bed etc.

True, but Im having lamps either side and a main light also, so should be enough. My sparki suggested having downlighters and a main light in the middle, has anyone else dont this. He explained that they recently done a job like this and it looked quite effective.
