Lighting?

Hello,

I am looking for some sort of Led/Neon strip light that I could place on the back of a unit to add a backlight to it.

I have found lots of suitable lights, but most of them need a 12v convertor to run, I am in need of something that is powered straight from the mains.

I want to create lighting behind a unit like this :

I only need something a minimum of about 60cm long, but like I said it needs to run direct from the mains.

But its not really what I want, I want something if possible smaller and bigger.

That thing in Argos isn't what you want at all. It's a UV (aka BLACK) light.

I think what you really need is a standard, mains powered fluorescent strip light but with a coloured tube in it. Type "coloured fluorescent tubes" into your favourite search engine and you'll turn up lots of suppliers.

There was a topic posted in "Projects" where a guy was asking how he could light up his extension (to his living room).

Someone on there advised of LED lighting strips from IKEA, they plug in to the mains and can be laid as a strip behind/ontop of furniture etc.
