My bedroom has three spotlights. When I switch them on they flick on then straight back off. They have not tripped the fuse box. Can someone advise me what the problem is likely to be?

They've been up for years. The first time it happened I assumed one of the bulbs had gone and the fuse box had tripped but that is not the case.
