I decided to give the kitchen cupboard doors a new look. They are solid oak frame with a panel insert that has oak facing. I sanded off the old varnish and got, what I considered to to be, an even finish. I followed the instructions on the tin which said to paint on, leave for 15 minutes then polish with a soft cloth. The finish looked like it had been whitewashed very badly. What did I do wrong??? I used the Ronseal Lime Wax. :( :( :(

you needed to remove all existing finish with a chemical stripper and then open the grain in the wood with a wire brush or something of that nature to receive the lime wax. A hard job even for us professionals.

thanks for the advice. the only problem I have is that there are 17 doors. Guess what I am doing over Easter!!!!!!
