Hello,

I'm doing up a stone cottage in West Cork Ireland. We're working on one small room that will be a utility room and after smashing out the broken up concrete slab that was half covering the room and digging down about 3 inches of clay and rubble we hit bedrock. I had hoped to lay a proper limecrete floor with 12 to 18 inches of foamed glass underneath, but with the heights (height of old room was 5 foot 10) needed it looks like some of the bedrock will end up being exposed in the room. Has anyone ever done limecrete directly over and Incorporating bedrock. It is shale turned on it side.. It can be beaten down a little but no jackhammering or anything with the old rubble and dirt walls around.

Let me know if you have any thoughts.
