lining a paint tray?

can you line a paint tray with clingfilm or tinfoil to save having to wash it out every time you use it?

I have to mist coat my kitchen, but with my bad back it's being done one wall at a time over several days and washing the tray out every day will be a pain..
brushes and rollers aren't a problem as I tried a tip about wraping them in clingfilm fo keep the paint in them wet.. and it works ok.. ( plus I have a supply of brushes from an old workplace, and a pack of cheap roller heads.. )

put the paint tray in a plastic bag! works for me.
