hi
have just stripped walls ready for redecoration. The wall are slightly uneven and cracked and i have sanded and filled the worst of it. Was going to line b4 painting but have been given advice to leave a 5mm gap between each length and then fill after. Was told this would leave a better finish. Any truth in this?
many thanks

No, not THAT wide, although its not as important to completely butt the joints as you would with wallpaper its still better to get them as close as possible .. Thick trade emulsion will fill gaps up to 0.5mm anything wider would need a light skim with filler but why make extra work for yourself?
P.S.Any slight overlapped lining joints can be lightly sanded back to level when completely dry[/i]
