Hi there,
I was just wondering if anyone could give me a rough idea of how much it would cost to skim vs line and fill by square meter.
A builder said it would cost more to line and I just don't understand how that is possible.

Any help with this would be great.

Thanks
Tom

You might be better off posting in the plastering section - don't repeat your post word for word though or you will be in trouble with the mods

To line properly involves a two layer process - one horizontal layer followed by a vertical one. The advantages of lining is that it can support a weakened plaster wall.

If thr subcoat is in reasonable nick then a room can be skimmed in a day and no further prep work is required.

Material costs aren.t dissimilar but plaster finish will be smoother. So it, s down to day labour.
