A couple of cast lintels on the exposed side of our property are deteriorating. Probably poor QC from the 60's, where the rebar was placed too close to the surface and has blown off chunks of concrete by corrosion.
I was thinking that since that side of the house is not generally visible, I would replace the cast lintels with Catnic lintels and infill with matching split face blocks. But I'm not sure if Catnic or Bartley steel lintels are suitable for replacing cast lintels.
