Lipstick on carpet

I have bright pink lipstick smudged on my wool rug. How can I get it out?

Thanks for the quick response. Boy, it really does sound like Americans are very careless. My 1 and 3 year olds got into my 10 year olds play makeup. I guess I should keep all of that under lock and key.

I will try some of the solutions suggested on the links you gave me. Again, thanks for the help.

Boy, it really does sound like Americans are very careless.

I actually have a pet theory for this. Compared to the UK there are an awfull lot of Americans. All things being equall we would therefore have more posts from Americans than the UK. All things are not equal though, as most DIY type activities would be different in America compared to the UK. (different wiring, different building regs, etc.. ) So most Americans don't post their DIY posts on this UK Forum.

When it comes to ink or whatever on fabric, however, the Americans realise that the problem is the same the world over. The restrictive element of this equation is then removed. Hence we end up with American Postings for this type of issue, on a scale in keeping with the size of the American population.

This then leads to a chain reaction. As there are plenty of threads generated on the forum about ink removal, It gets picked up by the search engines. Americans searching for Ink Removal solutions then find this site in response to their searches. This leads to more links, pushing the site further up the list. Leading to an escalating spiral, where, apparently, this site specialises in Ink removal solutions.

Nah, Americans are probably just clumsy

I think it's just that Americans know who to ask when they've done something stupid.
