I've just painted my window cills at home;

- rubbed them down
- 1st coat of Satinwood
- lightly rubbed them down again
- 2nd coat of Satinwood

Now dry, I can see and feel loads of tiny bits of something.

What are these bits? and how can I get rid of them?

Many thanks.

Was the window open?
Was your brush clean?
Did you dust off the cil properly?

The only way to get rid of it is to lightly sand the cil and paint again, bearing in mind the above.

Try a new brush.

Yes the windows were open as I didn't want to inhale all the fumes. And I live on top of a busy road.

I guess that's my answer.

Many thanks.

It's the bits you've sanded off that you haven't cleaned away. They get caught in corners and your wet brush picks them up and spreads them all over your paint. Use a vacuum.

Run the paint through some fine mesh tights, this will get rid of the bits and start again.
