I have just checked the wiring inside a fused switch which is powering the lights under the kitchen worktops. Where it says LOAD I take it that means the mains voltage coming in and SUPPLY means the supply going out to power to the lights.

Yeah, thought so. What are the repercussions of wiring it in this way?
I have also found a spur in the kitchen with the twin and earth wired directly into a standard plug. This has all been uncovered as I'm ripping the old kitchen out.
How dodgy is that.

The fused switch being the wrong way round shouldn't have any operational effect, though I guess that when installed 'properly' the switch makes sure you isolate live from the fuse contact when you come to change it, just in case some freaky accident thing happens.
