Hi all

Just discovered that the previous owners made a doorway in this internal wall.
Looking to remove the frame and have it as a seamless opening, but a small part of me wonders if the door frame is serving as a support, as I can't see any signs of a lintel being installed?
Obvious answer is get a structural engineer, which I will, but the ceiling above is block and beam so does this negate the need for supporting walls?
For context, this is a converted shop so through that doorway is a 9m x 5m open space, all unsupported. The only walls downstairs are this one, and one running at 90 degrees to separate off what was the stock room.
Appreciate any thoughts ahead of getting someone in

What is the construction of the walls?

Take the architrave off at the top and see what you find.
