Location for 50mm dia hole:

Need to drill 50mm dia hole through outside and inside cavity wall. Facing brick on outside and thermolite blocks on inside. Where is the best place to locate hole:

1. through centre of outside facing brick?
2. or centred in mortar joint between facing bricks?
3. anywhere?

through the centre of an outside facing brick. if you make a balls up you will only have molested one brick, therefore less damage to rectify.
