Hi

I have a light which is controlled by 2 way switching. On one of the switch boxes I want a locator light. How do I wire this into the 2 way swicth so that when the light is off the locator is on and when the light is on the locator is off. I have to do it without using a neutral, was reading somewhere someone said put it across the common and the L1 but will that not just brigde the switch?

Between common and L1 is correct. Although this will be across the switch, the current flow through the indicator will be far too small to illuminate the main lamp.
When the switch is on, the indicator will be off, as both connections will be at the same potential.

Note that this might not work properly with some CFL or LED lamps.
